The QR Code Scavenger Hunt is a demonstration of the recent changes in how we approach participatory culture.  Previously, involvement in the public sphere was strictly limited in terms of space; one could either contribute physically or virtually, but never both.  However, due to technological advancements and the progression of social media, we are now beginning to see a convergence between the two.
Our theme draws inspiration from the works of Martin Dodge and Rob Kitchen entitled, Flying through code/space: the virtuality of air travel.  As the world continues to become more computerized, the actions we partake in the virtual world affect the physical, and vice versa.  Our behaviors are now being dictated by the digital information we send and receiv
By engaging in the scavenger hunt, we hope that you will recognize that participating not only transcends the boundaries of space, but also actively creates cooperation between the physical and the virtual. Check back on May 24th for the first clue!
